Chairman’s Massage

The everyday life of the common Indian is filled with challenges — yet it is in these very challenges that we witness remarkable creativity. Across the country, countless individuals are turning problems into opportunities, demonstrating ingenuity through grassroots innovations. Several organizations have played a key role in documenting and showcasing these efforts, which continue to inspire us all.

Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, one of India’s most visionary scientists and a beloved President, championed the cause of frugal innovation. He transformed the Rashtrapati Bhawan into a platform for celebrating creativity by hosting annual expositions that brought recognition to the efforts of local innovators, artisans, and grassroots scientists.

As we observe 2025 as the International Year of Science for Peace and Sustainable Development, NOSTC is proud to align with the global vision by assigning additional weightage to entries that meaningfully contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including:

  • Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3)

  • Clean Water and Sanitation (SDG 6)

  • Affordable and Clean Energy (SDG 7)

  • Climate Action (SDG 13)

  • Life Below Water (SDG 14)

  • Life on Land (SDG 15)

We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for young minds through the Indian Young Inventors and Innovators Challenge (IYIIC) 2025. Innovators, inventors, and researchers aged 14 to 30 years are invited to submit their ideas, projects, and research contributions. Full details and guidelines are available on the official NOSTC website.

Students, teachers, artisans, scientists, technocrats, and members of industries, research organizations, NGOs, and medical institutions have expressed tremendous enthusiasm for this unique platform. While eligibility is limited to those under 35 years as of 31st December 2025, the ripple of interest across all sectors is both encouraging and motivating.

Registrations are now open for the regional rounds, which will be held through a combination of online and physical demonstrations across the country. Selected entries will advance to the National Event scheduled to be held in Gujarat, where a distinguished jury will also consider recommending standout innovations for prestigious international representation. I look forward to seeing the spirit of innovation in action and will be cheering for each of you as you share your creations. Your journey may well shape the future of our nation — and the world.

Warm wishes

Er Anuj Sinha

Chairman, NOSTC
